Growing demand for vegetable seeds

Demand for vegetable seeds is expected to continue growing, mainly due to the growing world population. "By increasing Rijk Zwaan's seed processing and storage capacity, we can continue to meet producers' needs for high-quality vegetable seeds. At the same time, our new facility will allow us to spread our seed processing and storage activities across multiple locations, thus better supporting business continuity," says Hubertien Doldersum, Manager Operations at Rijk Zwaan.

Interest in the community

The wishes and needs of the local community are taken into account in the construction plans. Alongside the cycle path in Kralingerpad, for example, a public path and green space will be built at the new Rijk Zwaan facility. In addition, the existing water stream has been widened to 12 meters to significantly improve the drainage system away from De Lier.
